I ran across these TikTok videos and wondered if anyone is aware of this guy... Barry Todd Griggs. He coached at La Marque, West Columbia and Brazoswood.

The poor guy in the video was adopted by Griggs and claims abuse - physical and sexual - when he was 10-14 years old. He's now 34. Griggs was arrested several times, then went to Kentucky where he was arrested and is a registered sex offender.

The TikTok videos (his handle is @travisread713) are graphic in language and not suited for work enviroments. The point of the videos is that he is saying Brazoria County swept it under the rug because the guy was a coach. He evidently had physical evidence and was not allowed to testify in court against Griggs, then sent to more foster homes.

Just really hard to see a county cover up for a coach nobody has heard of, who bounced around to a bunch of schools. Maybe for the dude at Katy that won a bunch, and that is really slim, but not for this dude.

Not saying it didn't happen, or hating on the kid. Just saying I don't think they cover up stuff for a nobody glorified PE coach.

I agree with you about the cover up. However, he wasn't charged for the sexual crimes that were alleged, and he ended up being a sex offender in Kentucky.

You say the County "swept it under the rug," yet list several times that he was arrested.
It's sad when a perv/abuser isn't punished but this seems more like a prosecutor/jury/evidence issue, not some conspiracy to protect a coach.

Damn - I know a number of guys that have coached football at those schools. Never heard of this dude though.

The man in the video is accusing the county of sweeping it under the rug. From what I can gather, he is saying those arrests were for assault - misdemeanor stuff, when in reality he was badly sexually assaulted as a child.
