For those with standing desks. What percentage of the time are you standing vs. sitt

I have back issues. I'm considering getting a standing desk that raises and lowers. I've seen some tall chairs you can use to kind of sit and stand. Is this one of those things that sounds good, but once you have one you don't really use?

Had one from Office Depot the moment we were induced to WFH from Covid protocol. I stand about 50% off the time, but no more than 30 minutes at a time either way.

How sturdy have you found that desk? Ive noticed a good amount of brands are wobbly at standing height, which I would not be a fan of

I like mine. I'll go a week standing all day and sometimes a month of all sitting. I usually sit until my back starts hurting then stand until it stops. I've had a varidesk which I liked but it didn't quite get high enough. The one I have now is another brand and it works fine too.

I have a Varidesk and I sit very rarely. Close to 100% standing. I do use one of their pads under my feet, and that helps quite a bit.

Do you standers have some kind of box or platform to raise one foot up and prop it for a bit?

I've been using a stand-up for about 4 years, including WFH. Stand up 99.9%. Sit/quick nap at lunch. I'm 2 days in office and 3 at home these days. Rubber mat on wood floors at home and just carpet at work. I'm barefoot at home.

I have a sit/stand - about 80% sit and 20% stand.

This was my experience when I had a standing desk. Need to buy a new desk for home but not sure if I'm going to get a standing desk or not.

Im about 60-40 sitting to standing. Mine has a bar that I can rest my feet on when sitting and I have a pad that I keep under the rug

It's real basic one but I think it works well

I've also been looking at one of these but I wouldn't want to move it around when I decide to sit down

I stand maybe 10% of the time because I don't like to stand when talking in meetings, which is a lot. But I love to have the option.

I stand about 15 to 20 percent of the time. You definitely want to get an anti-fatigue mat to stand on. I have one that fits under my desk while sitting, then can slide it out with my foot to stand on. You also want an electric sit stand desk, so you can program the heights for sitting and standing that best works for you and just it a button to raise or lower it.

I leave mine raised most of the day. It makes people think you've been busy and you can fit under there a bit better for nap time.

When Varidesks started running commercials we had a run of requests for them at work. Now most are either just being used as expensive monitor stands or tucked away in some corner of the warehouse.

Has anyone ever used one of the standing desk hammocks? It seems like an absolute waste of money and there's no way that it's comfortable.

Still I'm intrigued

We both have standing desks from IKEA. They are very well made and great. We also have stools instead of chairs. I am constantly switching from standing, sitting, and leaning. Love it.

I have a standing desk at work. At sit at it 100% of the time. When I feel like I need to move I get up and walk around.

I had one at work for about a year. Never raised it up once.

Seems like that would negate the benefits.
