We never had backpacks in highschool. Just lockers (Free) and one set of books.

My kids get to highschool, with backpacks. If you want a locker, you have to pay for it. WTF??? That was one of those times when I realized that I'm just old.

My high school days (1996-2000), Jansport were the popular ones. I had to make due with what I could get at wal-mart. Also had lockers and used them. Seems like everyone wore back packs. I think we only 5 mins between classes (small school) so it was just easier to have all your morning classes with you h til lunch and then switch for your afternoon stuff after lunch

We just carried our books around, and went to our lockers between classes. No backpacks.

This.

Only nerds had backpacks then.
Where'd you keep your discman and CD wallet?

Discman didn't exist when I was in high school, or at least nobody in our school had one.
Where'd you keep the dinosaur eggs you brought for lunch?

I have replaced my sons backpack twice a school year. These North Face backpacks are so much thinner than the older Jansports
The North Face backpacks have a life time guarantee though (at least if you buy it directly from North Face). If they cannot fix it, they will replace it. They replaced my daughter's last one.

Only kids in high school that had backpacks were the losers that had to ride the bus or walk to school
