Purposely park near a cart return corral if you know you're going to get something like that or if you're just lazy like me.

When I buy beer and ice to put in my cooler, I will leave the beer cases and ice bags in the cart if the grocery store doesn't provide any trash cans in the parking lot. I'll return the cart, but hopefully the grocery store will get the message that they need trash cans after having to throw away enough beer cases and ice bags.

Why should they expect you to unbox all your **** straight from the parking lot? Trash cans all over a parking lot are just gonna be gross for employees to have to deal with. They'd probably rather just pick up after you after you leave your trash in their cart.

Park near a corral. Not difficult.

If it's further away from the store, it's good for you. America could stand to walk a few extra steps.

I'm pretty sure people that don't return carts are sociopaths. People that leave them in the middle of a parking space at psychopaths.

When I worked at HEB as a teenager my favorite job was gathering all the carts from around the parking lot. It got me outside and walking around. So in a way, I feel like I'm paying it forward when I lodge those front two wheels over the curb.

There is almost no situation where you'd be in a "real hurry" where you hadn't already just abandoned the cart in the parking lot in the store to go run to your car for an emergency. Any other "hurry" situation is just you sucking at time management and being a lazy mofo that doesn't want to put in an extra 50 steps that day to be a functioning member of society.

Easily seen from the parking spot? They've got massive signs on every light pole to show where they are. Raining? Don't leave the house without your rain jacket. There's nothing "complex" about the reality of the task of returning a cart.
