Thought the same but the way that fire flared up in the sink I doubt it went according to "plan" if it was fake. I feel bad for young single males.

Ive gone on dates with a lot 20-30 something yo women, and id say maybe 25% of them know how to cook. Its definitely a dying breed.

I cooked lots growing up, but then found that I really really hate cooking just for myself and find it to be depressing and lonely.

So, I can cook, but I rarely do, so I'm out of practice. When I cook, it always turns out good though,

lots of take out/dining out or super simple stuff or sandwhiches or soups, parchment paper salmon, etc. food is easily my biggest expense and the easiest to cut when I need to watch my spending.

when I cook, I wanna make like a big production of a meal, then I get sad that I'm not sharing it with anyone.

This. When I'm in a relationship, I love to cook. Cooking just for me sucks. I do it a little, just because I get tired of take out/frozen food.

It's the same as it ever was. It's just that people back in the day didn't have the means to broadcast their stupidity to millions of people.

I stopped at one of these hipster froo-froo cookies places earlier to bring a surprise treat home for the family.

The gals working there were maybe high school or college age and all in good shape. Doesn't look like they sample the product much.

The customers ahead of me in line (all female), not as much.

One gal did indeed have on skimpy workout clothes. But she was probably 40lbs overweight.

Don't let the CrossFit attention hoors on Instagram lead you to believe a large percentage of the population is working out.

It's interesting to read older novels set in the 19th century where someone portrayed as really strong might be 6'1 190. Over 200 is a freak unless they are fat.

Weightlifting and nutrition has changed things. There's a real bifurcation… the fit people are super fit and strong, the not fit people have also diverged farther.

This is true. I was down to 150 during the pandemic. I was running like the wind and felt as strong as I ever did almost.

I'm the same height but the last time I hit 170 I was skin and bones.

That's about the most I normally go, 170. The most I ever weighed was 185. I was working out a lot then and benching 205. By my standards I was just repping it in the weight room.

I cooked salmon tonight. I looked the recipe up on the internet.

Yeah I make a mean lunchable

I put a casserole in the oven about 45 minutes ago. Making it, knowing that no one else will eat it did make me pretty sad.

What do we consider "cooking" these days? I bake frozen stuff a lot but dont do a lot of from scratch type meals. Does this still count?

I unfortunately had to go to grapevine mills today to get something for the kid. I can confirm that 90% of Americans are grotesquely overweight and unlikely to speak English.
