Has anyone developed a standard strategy as far as a starting country? Knowing the Earth is 40,000km in circumference, it seems like some sort of central location would be good. I've been using Ecuador because, well, the Equator. I don't know if it is the best east/west reference though.

I use Egypt because of proximity to three continents.
