Are you aware of any proof that the standard Nerdle can always be solved in 5 or less guesses with perfect play? I suspect this is true but have not seen a proof of it.

There are some computer solvers that claim at most 4 guesses:

I just use shell commands like grep but nothing automated since I like to solve it by hand after 2 guesses to get the cognitive benefit. I've dipped below a 3.06 average a few times but bumped up slightly this year.
