Honestly, it is getting harder and harder to get by these days, doesnt matter what the pay is. Inflation is affecting everyone. 350K doesn't last as long as it used it.

In all seriousness, when our bonuses and raises come through in February we're gonna have a bloodbath. I don't think my employer understands how easy it is for engineers to find higher paying jobs with better work accomodations (WFH, etc.) than we are offering. I'm having people on my te get cold called and offered jobs for more money over the phone.

It's not really a bonus. It's what I agreed to take at end of year in our shareholders meeting. I just called it a bonus so I could make a thread that the unsophisticated poor people on TexAgs would understand.

My company touted bigger raises than usual this year for "employee retention" and it ended up just being in line with inflation. I mean, I'm glad I got that at least, but it was funny how they were trying to make it seem like some big favor.

Corporate slave checking in. Making multiples of median US household income not including my wife's salary. My bonus is underwhelming, I try to get every penny in salary to reduce the variable component.

And as always, these threads make me feel poor.

I got twice as much as last year and a nice increase in pay. I think they believe I was on my way out. I actually was, but it looks like they're going to weed out a few people that make working there suck.

I used to get about a 10% bonus, I never planned on it, not earth shattering, but nice.

Switched companies and they gave me a $15 gift card to Starbucks and a Starbuck coffee mug (which I'm regifting at family white elephant, the mug not the gift card).

I know people have a lot going on, but really hoping that isn't my new bonus.

I haven't had a raise or bonus at my new employer. Joined over 2 years ago. With how things have been, guess I'm just happy to still have a job. A raise or bonus would be nice though.

We used to get a bonus every year of about 2 to 3 percent of our salary. Then our company merged (taken over) with another, and the bonus went away really quick.

In my mind and in common vernacular, it stands for "thousand." I don't really care what it actually stands for. My profession doesn't require me to do any math or be familiar with numerical abbreviations.
