A teacher can go to strip clubs on their own time. If they mention it to students, that is a separate matter.

If it really bothers you, you should contact the school principal.

I agree with the Fro, what a teacher does while not at work is their business. Telling the kids about it is completely inappropriate.

I don't know who schra is. A neighbor told me what was going on. Like I said, I am unsure about it. My initial reaction was pretty negative, but I guess an adult can do what they want. I am concerned about my children finding out.

Well considering that some of the teachers I had when I was in school probably were members of the Klan or related to members and they managed not to infect me with their vitriol I could deal with it.

Again, if the teacher wasn't talking about it in class where is the issue?

I vividly remember my health teacher in HS going on and on about how the health texts were wrong, being extremely preachy, and prosetylizing against the evils of miscegenation.

I can deal with it. I am not sure I want to. Does anyone know about the morality clause issue? I know a teacher in Florida got fired for being caught at a swimger's club. I am hazy on the details, though.

Why don't you put your kid in private school then?

If we're talking about high school aged daughter, then yes, it would worry me, especially if it were on of those assistant football coaches that teach typing or health. It's his business what he does after hours, but it would still creep me out.

seriously, though, if you believe that, you should visit the bible belt, and encourage the elem school teachers to accompany you out for drinks at the local bar.

its none of your business. you can use your rights to not go to strip clubs if you like. not meaning to sound rude by just because i do not go to them does not mean someone else can't even a teacher.

i taught school for a little while and i swear about 15% of the teachers chose the job because it did not drug test.

When my girlfriend first started teaching in Houston last year, a bunch of the teachers took her out to a male strip club one night. I thought it was pretty shady behavior. While public school teachers are free to do as they chose, they do hold a position of some stature and respect in the community and they might want to consider their position as role models in the community. I guess its easier to do that kinda stuff in a city the size of Houston.
I've got nothing but respect for the teachers I had growing up but after my experiences with her co-workers, my kids are going to private school.

If it isn't coming up in the classroom and it isn't causing this person to miss work, why do you care enough to get them fired?

You have the right to have the child removed from teh classroom if you think their immorality will hurt them.

Why ruin their career because you think this is immoral?
