Hey All,
Please allow me to explain the new posting limits -- how they work and why they are necessary.
What User Accounts are Affected?
The new posting limits ONLY affect ROOKIE level (30 posts or less) and PRO level (100 posts or less) accounts. There are NO posting limitations on accounts that have reached VETERAN level or above.
User accounts with subscriptions (BASIC or above) are not affected by the posting limitations.
What are the limitations?
ROOKIE level accounts are only allowed to start 1 topic and make 5 replies per a 24 hour period.
PRO level accounts are only allowed to start 3 topics and make 10 replies per a 24 hour period.
*** Once an account reaches VETERAN status, there are no posting restrictions. ***
Why are the limitations necessary?
Two reasons really: First, to reduce the scope of inappropriate content being posted by rookie level accounts. And, second, to increase the consequences of a ban by temporarily reducing an individual’s involvement on the forums.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Brandon ‘95
