I get it. I did it about a year after our son. Wife was not necessarily old but we were happy with a family of three and the risks of complications just did not make sense for a 3rd child...while we would have obviously loved if a 3rd happened...was not something we were wanting / needing so we removed any chance.

As a society we are getting people pregnant later and later in life and I have seen (including family members) increases in lost pregnancies and kids born that are definitely a bit 'slower' than average. On top of that, having a kid at 40+ and you are going to effectively be a grandparent when the kid is just a senior in high school. Its like tossing a reasonably active retirement out the window. Does not make sense personally...but obviously everyone has different situations so what is right for me may be completely wrong for another.

Ahhhhhh, will never forget that day...….Dr. Richard Chop, that's right, Dr. Richard Chop did the procedure. That needle stung a bit...…Went home and welded in the shop....big mistake.....Ol' Dr. Chop put staples in. Told me to come back in 10 days. 10 days later I'm on table and he starts the small talk....Me, dumb @ss I am just had to tell him I recommended a friend to get the procedure....He asks me what I told him.....I told him that when that doctor gets ahold of yours, you grab ahold his and its all ok.....at that moment he turned around with what looked like a pair craftsman pliers and pulled back the skin off the corner of those staples.......Ching Gow!!!!!! Fire in the hole!!!!!! that hurt.....

The day after my V, I was feeling okay so decided to help a friend move some furniture...

8. Actually, my wife and I had 4 when I got the V. Then insane us decided we wanted some more after all, and I got a reversal. (Side note: the discomfort from a V doesn't hold a candle to how you'll feel after a reversal.) It was successful, to the tune of 4 more kids.

No regrets at all, they're a great bunch, but the guy who was talking about retirement plans being impacted by having kids later in life knows what he's talking about. Our youngest was born when I was 44, so retirement isn't a realistic option until I'm mid, and maybe even late, 60s.

Only a fool would decline laughing gas over 150 dollars.

I'm glad I got mine done. If you want a referral, DM me. No valium or any of that nonsense. It takes 12 minutes and you need to ice them for a day and take it easy but it's nothing to worry about.

I don't use the term "man up" but in this case, it's correct. Just get it done and you're back to normal in a day and a half.

That's good for you. Now when you turn 50 and leave her for a 25 year old you won't have to get it reversed.

I had some pain the next few days, but the analgesics did the trick. Life is normal after that.

Just be damn sure you go back in a few months later and test for swimmers. My urologist told me about a guy who's wife got pregnant 6 months later and they nearly divorced over it. Turns out the guy's deferens grew back together on one side!

I had mine done
Had some swelling and soreness and a little discomfort for 3-4 days but that was it.

Nothing has changed on my end except now shoot blanks.
No big deal since we were done having kids

I read the title of this thread and thought that it must be the title of the latest Taylor Swift song.

I took my son to OKC for the NCAA tournament and the epic UNI game, had to be back in town by 800a for the procedure; talked about the game some and it was over. Was tired enough to sleep for hours since I had driven all night.
In my situation, a third child would be wholly irresponsible (have a kid with special needs) as one of my children would not get the attention they need.
