first time watching this as an adult. on season 9. kinda scary how far ahead of the times mike judge was. Hank got labeled a female on his drivers license. Trying to prove hes in fact a male aint working out.

I dont remember the PC police having such an influence back then.

Was always a fan of KOTH. Pretty wholesome show. Plus, Mike Judge has a great sense of humor. All of his stuff is hilarious.

Excellent show. Great show to watch if you're ever stuck outside of Texas for any period of time and start to feel homesick.

Mike Judge also did two seasons of a show called Tales From The Tour Bus, which is a sort of episodic documentary on different country (season 1) and funk (season 2) acts, as illustrated and narrated by Judge.

One of my favorite episodes though took place outside of Texas and that's the one where Hank got the chance to throw the football through the Alamo cutout in the Superdome and they had to pitstop on Bill's family's plantation home in Louisiana. Literally a quotable line every minute of the episode.

I love how everyone gets made fun of. It's lighthearted and affectionate, but no one gets spared.

In the end, though, Hank's world view usually wins out. He's flawed like everyone else, wound too tight, emotionally distant, etc... But he's also decent, down-to-earth, honest, basically tolerant, and a good by-God Texan.

The Foods that Made America on History the other day was talking about Frito Lay. I had no idea Frito's started in San Antonio. That knowledge added something to Lucky's tales of eating corn chips fresh off the conveyor at the chip factory.
