Hank, regarding trolling down by the dam. I'm looking at ordering some of those jet diver lures and they've got some that run 20' and some that run 30'. Do you think I should go with the 20? From what I can remember the water near the dam varies from 25-40ish feet deep.

It's been a while, but I think you're correct on the depth. I remember it being from the low 20s to upper 30s.

I've never used the jet divers (or any other downriggers), only deep diving cranks, and they usually get down to about 20' on a retrieve - probably a little more when trolling.

Just see what your fish finder says and try to get down to them. I don't think you'll have to worry about dragging bottom with a crankbait in most places.

I suppose you could also try something like a lipless crankbait off the downrigger.
