Cottage cheese. HEB is good and stays good up to the expiration date; Kroger SUX. i had to set my breakfast aside today becuase the Kroger cottage cheese I got was raunchy tasting. Bought it Monday.
You can also expect to spend about $0.25 more for each item in your cart at Kroger, card or no card. I get all pissy whenever I shop there out of necessity b/c I know I'm getting ripped off.
^ | | | What she said! Kroger is more convenient for us since its on my way home... but I feel like I could save money by stopping at the Shell station that's closer to my house.
The whole card thing at Krogers pisses me off. What a scam. I drive past Krogers to go to HEB. Also, HEB was started in Texas. I don't know where Kroger was started.
I went shopping at HEB the other night, and I got food for the next couple of weeks, and I was a little worried about how much the total was going to be.
I think it ended up being 51 dollars - a very nice surprise.
HEB is the cheapest and Super Walmart is in the same range, but I like the environment of HEB much better. At the HEB in C.S. you wait in line for less than 2 minutes, but in Super Walmart in Bryan you have to wait in line for at least 10 to 50 minutes.
No, the HEB is NASTY and the Kroger is a brand new Signature Store... I may have to pay more at Kroger, but I don't feel like I need a shower when I leave...
PSYLOCKE, is it that crappy HEB Pantry store? If so, that thing sucks. It's nothing like a real HEB store. I'm sure you leave island occasionally, so you probably know that.
HEB pisses redline off because all they have is their cheap HEB products. redline can never find the stuff he wants. Also, redline bought HEB brand milk once, and it soured 4 days before the sell by date. HEB is cheaper though.
bock picks up groceries at HEB or Randall's (carpool from their parking lot) while wife shops at Krogers--- in OKC we preferred The Neighborhood Market (walmart- groceries only) but the one close by in H-town sux.
ps. used to think HEB was a reference to DFW mid-cities until noticed full name on delivery trucks: thankfully none of us has to shop at Butt Foods!
