Tree professionals are worth their weight in gold.
So I've cut a lot of trees, but NEVER had the nads to cut a 60' loblolly pine in a residential neighborhood. I'm having trouble envisioning where they were going to try and drop that hing.BurnetAggie99 said:
Can't believe they didn't piece that thing out first and dude definitely messed up his notch cut.

So you attach the come-a-long with a strap of - how long? How high? And do you keep ratcheting until you hear cracking and run like hell or do you just put in a good solid side load and let it be?Moy said:
The notch angle doesn't matter with that much mass and the small trunk diameter. Even professional loggers have trouble guessing on flat ground like that.
To minimize risk, you take it down in sections and use a come-a-long to pull in the direction of desired fall.
