How long do you want to ignore this user?
Howdy,

I am a current student and have just recently been asked about the listeater... It has come to my attention that I have not heard this story even though it seems to be Aggie lore. I would love to hear from anyone that was there to witness what happened as well as hear from any Aggies that currently attend A&M if you guys have heard this story??? Also one question why do we not call people "listeaters" when they cut in line???

Briefly -
Back in the day students would camp out overnight to be first/early in line for ticket pulls. Students did camp out overnight for Cotton Bowl tickets and made a list of who got there and in what order, so that when the window opened, everybody would be fair and honest.

"Listeater" did not appreciate this and proceeded to take said list and eat it.

It is, obviously, a thing of Aggie legend and lore.

That's the briefest of explanations. Others will chime-in complete with GIFs, I'm sure.

Cotton Bowl 2005

Same process for camp out to get student tickets as the beginning of the year to buy away game tickets. Set up the night before. First person at each window makes a list. As people show up they get added to the list for that window.

Fast forward to morning and list eater was not happy with this so she ripped a list off of a window after a verbal spout and shoved the thing in her fat Lard mouth.

Yes. The list method was based on everyone acting in good faith. Not an official waiting list, just something started by the people who were there. IIRC there was a check in once every hour or two to make sure you were still there. Then in between check ins you could go back to your tent and do whatever.

Earliest people had been there a long time. At least since the day before and maybe even some a day before that. Ticket pull started at something like 7 or 8.

Listeater shows up at something like 5 or 6 and stands in line at the window. Everyone who had been camping out shows up for the check in and someone explains to Listeater about the system and she will be added to the bottom of the list. She gets all indignant about how that's not an actual rule and she's going to stay in her spot at the front of the line at the window thank you very much.

At some point there's an altercation where someone is showing her the list. Things are heated. She takes the list. Someone tries to take it back and rather than give it back she eats the list so now there is no record of who was in what order. (EDIT, based on post above I think it was taped to the window -- I wasn't there when it happened).

Something I had kinda forgotten was that everyone out there had electrical stuff plugged in somewhere. My buddy and I were playing NCAA 2004 on a tv we had set up out there and the power would go out about once every 15 minutes, ending our game and forcing us to start over.

Fran showed up the morning before ticket pull with donuts, I think. He was not very successful as the A&M coach if I remember correctly. We also might have gotten our asses kicked by Tennessee and then gone 4-8 the next year. It's all real fuzzy.

The ass kicking was very real.

considering how the 2005 CB turned out. Listeater should be an Aggie hero if she prevented one person from getting tickets to that Fran donkey abortion.

That was Fran's 2nd year. We had gone 4-8 in his debut, with one of the worst defenses in school history, giving up 77 to OU, 59 to Tech, 48 to Nebraska, 46 to the sips, and 45 to Missouri.

Next year started 0-1, then rattled off 6 straight wins - including beating #25 Clemson and #16 Okie Lite. Got up to #17 in the country, then lost to Baylor in OT for the fist time in 4,00 years, then lost to #2 OU by a touchdown, beat Tech in OT, lost to the sips by 13 to finish the regular season 7-4.

Tennessee beat the piss out of us and it poured rain at the Cotton Bowl. 28-0 at halftime.

Went 5-6 in 2005 to say bye-by Fran. Closing 0-4 stretch including getting humiliated at home 42-14 by Iowa State and 56-17 on the road by Tceh. On the whole, I would have rather had Listeater coaching those teams, at least we could have saved some money.

Someone on the GB was in a wedding with the list eater about 5 years ago. They posted a photo of her that lasted about 10 minutes before he pulled it down. I think she still had her hair in a greasy ponytail

Creating lists ended during my years, I believe it ended the year after the first year in the SEC.

We use to camp for tickets and be on the list because it was first come - first serve but the ticket system has changed to random ticket generation which made camping out useless.

oooooooooh the power one felt holding 40+ sports passes cuzz of fishcamp.

I've always wondered, did anyone see her at the game and give her a hard time? I hope she had the worst time.

I was not at the ticket pull but my wife and I did go to that abortion of a football game. That Cotton Bowl was very close to being remembered for 100+ Aggies dying/injured on the DART escalator. That was F'ed up.

She got married about 5 years ago. Based on the picture she out kicked her coverage. Its not saying much but I expected her to marry someone who looked like they too would eat a list

i was '04-'08 and that many sports passes was auto 3rd deck period. I think 10 was max for second deck and lower.

Think of list eater somewhat similar to how you would think of the current Antifi kids rioting and destroying *****

Hard to believe that the Listeater Incident was the halfway point between the 1990 Holiday Bowl (Ty Detmer v Wrecking Crew) and today.

Damn I'm old.

Indeed that's correct and I typically pulled under 10

I was just making a comment on having that many sports passes. Clearly you never felt that power.

The engagement photo was in The Zoo years ago but I'm sure it was removed. I think her or her family has made contact with Texags about "harassment ". The last part is pure speculation but Listeater threads, photos, gifs, don't hang around like they once did

The good thing about the Fran era is that it burned me out on Aggie Football.

And don't forget $ Bill. I got to meet him in San Diego after getting shellacked by Cal in the 2006 Holiday Bowl. He was the architect of our Nebraska like schedule where we load up on tough opponents early in the season. You know, quality programs like - Southwest Texas (aka Texas State), a few more Louisiana Directional schools, etc. And occasionally we'd even get outscored.

The whole outrageous event provided great Internet fun for awhile, especially the "Eyewitness News" account by one of the students and the follow up by KBTX the next day. It should have died a natural death then, but some people just wouldn't let it go. The obsession with Listeater by some posters here is downright creepy.
