Daryl and Johanna Ferguson lost their lives in a single-vehicle rollover crash in January 2019 leaving behind their 4 children. Bryston (18), Camden (16), Kovan (13) and Jaylee (7) were placed in the care of their grandmother, who had also just lost her husband of 36 years a few months prior. Due to difficult financial circumstances, these children were sadly evicted from the only home they ever knew and were split up to live with family and friends in different cities. They have been forced to grieve separately in a time when they need each other the most.

These incredible children are desperate to reunite with each other and their grandmother, to be a family once again in the town their parents raised them. The 8yr old is staying with her aunt in College Station. The youngest boy is being cared for by the DPS officer that was dispatched to their parents crash. The middle child is bouncing around living with various friends, and the oldest boy is being cared for by a Waco PD officer.

We are committed to helping bring this family back together and set them up with the tools and resources they need to heal. The $200,000 goal will provide them with a place to call home, a place where they can grow up together, a place filled with the things they need to survive. It provides a headstone for their parents' grave. It provides them with family counseling so they can grieve, heal, and pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.

Kailee Mills Foundation has pledged $10k towards the purchase of a home, and we will be awarding their oldest boy, a senior in HS, a $20k scholarship to attend Texas A&M University in the fall. Please share this video and fundraiser with anyone and everyone you know that may be willing to help!

Where is the grandmother currently living? Where do they plan to build/ provide the new home? I see that one child Is with a relative is local to College Station, just thinking about any local resources or organizations that can help further. I'm sure the foundation has more concrete plans and information. Just trying to think of other tangible support besides financial gifts.

What a terrible situation and a great foundation.

If you have kids and you don't have life insurance, please let this story be an example as to why it is absolutely essential to have insurance proceeds for surviving family.

the grandmother had to move in with her sister and sister's husband in Mexia, in a one bedroom apartment. The problem is that the kids want to stay in Groesbeck where they have always lived, and the real estate market is very limited there. Building a home will take longer than what everyone wants to wait, the goal is to get them back into a home together as quickly as possible. Ideally we would like to raise enough to buy a home that's already built, but all options are still on the table. If we could find them temporary housing big enough while we build a home, and raise enough money to do both, that would be even better. It depends on how the fundraising plays out. We will most likely be throwing a benefit for them with live music, and College Station as the location is an option. A large part of our donor base is in the Houston area but we are partnering with other organizations in the central texas area as well. The community has already thrown a benefit in Groesbeck and raised around $40k but it's about tapped out in that area and we could get a larger response in a bigger market. If anyone has any questions or wants to get involved, feel free to DM me for my contact info (cell and email). Thanks!
