Note - this isn't me, its in a group I am in. I think the baby is 2-3 months.

Backstory:

So, I've been SICK. Body aches so bad I haven't been able to sleep, chills, dizzy, headaches, 103 fever, my milk supply has tanked. I had to leave work Sunday after just all of a sudden being so light headed I could hardly stand. Came home, and I had spiked that fever.

I got to rest for 2 hours before the baby woke up and I was with him the remainder of the night.

Stayed home again yesterday. Showered hoping that would help me feel a bit better. And finally laid down to rest at 11:45/12:00.

2:00 my SO texts me. I'm asleep so I don't respond. This ****** starts broadcasting over the Google HOME that I need to get up and do LAUNDRY.

Below is the next conversation.

The responses are quite comical.

Does she have big cans?

Oh wait, she's nursing. She's got those big nursing cans.

Pics might add some perspective to her plight.

THIS is everyone's argument. He woke up her using the damn Google Home - to tell a sick woman to do laundry.

I would NEVER do his laundry again.

Sounds like a couple that was short term and then had a baby to try and save the marriage. Who tf puts their business out there like that with screenshots of the conversation.

I'm going to assume the kid goes to daycare. So kid free for three more weeks of leave unless one is home sick.

while i don't know all of the details, and wont pass judgment on who is right and wrong without them, using google home to wake up a new mom who was up all night with baby, who is sick, and who just finally was able to go to sleep for a nap seems like a really good way to get murdered in your sleep.

She hasn't been kid free for 3 weeks. Half the time she is home with the baby.

I realize is a nursing mom which I guess conveys immunity to baby, but that is a high fever to expose baby to.

1. Glad I am not on any text threads discussing "milk supply"
2. What are 'dry days'?

It's always a good idea to forward personal texts to a group so that your SO can get blasted by your friends. He should probably do the same to get some support on how being a nursing mother is really not a difficult gig. Really strengthens the relationship.

Someone commented that dry days was referring to his man parts, and it would be dry forever going forward lol.

Apparently what it really is referring to is they have issues with their septic system when it rains a ton? So its not raining, so he wants her to do laundry.

Well then that actually makes sense.

Hell ya she should be doing laundry if it is dependent on the weather.

Your laundry machine shouldn't be hooked up to a septic system anyway, you can just run that **** outside onto the ground. Laundry machines will quickly fill up a septic system which are also not designed to handle all of the synthetic fibers which come out of a washing machine.

The way he asked about the kid free part makes me think she didnt post the whole conversation. Sounds like she said hes the only one kid free for three weeks straight (oil field rotation maybe?),but hes pointing out that her days off have mostly been kid free, and she could have started laundry at some point.

Sounds like similar **** the wife and i went through while i was in school.

She was working night shift. slept during the day. when she woke up (because she got to sleep while the baby was in daycare) she went and picked up the kiddo, got to spend happy time with him.

i commuted an hour to school each way. usually got home around 7 as she was leaving for work.

so i got to put the kid to sleep, and try to study while he slept...but the kid was having chronic earaches so he did not sleep well...so studying while comforting a colicky infant and waking up multiple times at night to feed him- essentially getting 4 hours of sleep at night or less

i would crash on the weekends and sleep for like 10 hours on saturday and not want to help with housework and just be rundown....wife would get pissed because "I was at work all day and you get to be home while the kid is asleep...." tried to explain the **** to her but she didn't understand because she wasn't living it.

then we had our second and she was a stay at home mom and had to handle the kids all day while i was at work and because i was working i decided it was her turn to deal with late night feedings and crying.

her going through that helped her understand what i went through while in school but until that point my behavior while in post grad was a sore point for her.

sounds like they need to communicate better. typical early marriage stuff.

Facts relevant to the case:
- The man can do laundry. If laundry is that important, he can find a way to do it.
- If your baby's mama is waking up with the baby every time, and you are sleeping though it, you should never under any circumstances wake her up from a nap. NEVER.

My judgement:
- The man is in the wrong for using google home to wake up a sleeping woman who cares for a baby through the night.
- The woman is in the wrong to air their dirty laundry (pun intended) in public.

I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

Why do you refer to the person as "SO"? Are they married or not?

If not, well there's your answer. People who refuse to marry but still purposely have children are selfish, full stop.

"I'll knock you up because we view the child as a desirable possession sort of like a pet, but I'm not making a lifelong commitment to you because I want to keep my options open" is not an enlightened worldview. It's an inevitable breakup, and a single parent household, and a short-changed child.

Predictable response to my comments: "BUT I KNOW LOTS OF SELFISH MARRIED PEOPLE YOU IDIOT LOLOLOL". I'm not saying that wedding vows are sufficient, but they are necessary - along with a mature couple who understands what those vows entail.

Fire away. I know that runs counter to the current enlightened conventional wisdom.
