Yes - although you will hear often "Ria-doso"

Kind of like often - who says offen and who says ofTen? Best friend from A&M lived in Ruidoso for decades. If you're a gringo with a twang it got a dosa but lots said doso. No one cared either way.

It's Spanish for "noisy". It is pronounced in Spanish like the "U" in Tuesday. The "i" is pronounced like a long "e". The rest is self explanatory.

If you pronounce it New Braunz-fullz you are probably from there.

Go to the Snow Park. Me and one of my then 4-year-old twins rode the big hill in a tube 13 times in a row one fine day in 2016.

That place doesn't count . . . I shouldn't have to tell you this.

I lived there for 20 years and can assure you that there is no universally acceptable way to say it. There are a few who insist it is pronounced Rue-ee-doe-so (and they would be correct) but there is really no consensus from the locals on what is proper and what isn't. As long as you spend lots of money and then leave, they are happy. If you say Ria-doe-sa, then they know for sure you are from Texas but there's a 90% chance of that being true anyway.
