If I had a time machine the fifties is one of the first places I'd visit. That beach scene would be the perfect place to experience the time.

The volleyball on stilts and infant attached to overhead compartment both seem like a high probability of disaster.

I've been in plenty of turbulence that would have sent that baby off the ceiling like someone spiking a volleyball

You know, if a couple of things had gone a little different you might have gotten matched off to fight World War III in those days, right?

Kind of like World War I when they had the soldiers charge machine gun nests, except this time with hydrogen bombs.

But as a white guy, the job market was pretty sweet.

You should let Granny speak for herself, which she would be allowed to these days.

Granny must not have been able to compete in her younger days.

When I was a kid I wished I lived in a more interesting time period.

I really regret wishing that.

Polio and iron lungs were a downer until 1955 when Salk's vaccine was created. My parents
were scared ****less about polio epidemics, probably for good reason.

1950s-early 1960s were probably the last golden age of passenger trains. I have fond memories of riding the Santa Fe El Capitan and San Francisco Chief back in the day.

Apparently they still do this. Some family friends of mine just signed their suicidal son up for treatment I was shocked to hear this was still used, but apparently it's very common.

If by (good) music, you mean digital copies of music from the 20th century, you're spot on.

From what I know (which admittedly isn't very much) it is done very differently than it used to be. They put the patient under, use the electricity to redirect neural pathways in a directed manner while the patient is under, then wake the patient up. Like having dental work done while unconscious. And it's supposed to be very effective.

Yokel, you need to tighten up those timelines.
