Not very scientific but interesting. The rudest city in Texas is Dallas, then Austin, Houston and far down was San Antonio.
No southern city was in the top 10. NYC was #1 followed by LA.

I think the top 5 is pretty interchangeable. As a MA resident, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that there are many times when Boston absolutely deserves the top spot.

It's just OP wanting to stereotype everyone - it's easier than seeing patients and using an individually diagnosis based on actual direct interaction. There are rude and wonderful people everywhere.

Some great places in the northeast but the people, on average, are the worst.

I never really understand people who say New Yorkers are rude. I've had very few negative interactions with people there. They're impatient, maybe, but if you're at least trying to move at their pace and you're not acting like a total dumbass, they're generally super nice.

My wife Is from NYC. We visit quite a bit. The people are more rude on average is my experience than most every other place in this country. But they also are barely getting by, worked like crazy, and the population is so crazy dense. But once you become part of the their family they are very welcoming to you

Lots of design errors. New Orleans always seemed friendly and it's #35.

Had a potential customer referred to me by an existing customer. He needed help and asked that I look into it and provide quotes. He called after I emailed the research he requested with suggestions on how to proceed in his best interest. We never even got to the pricing options because he was so obnoxiously argumentative and rude. I suggested he look for someone else to solution his issues.

He was flabbergasted that I was passing on his business. Even admitting he knew he was argumentative by nature and a jerk, but couldn't understand me passing on making money.

No thanks man. Not worth it.

Dude was from New York. Shocking.

I'm sure there are nice New Yorkers but the biggest POS I ever met was from Brooklyn. He used to say how much he hated NY and I'd have paid for his move back there.

Once New Yorkers move away they rarely move back. That tells you a lot. Tough place to earn a living and especially raise a family.

Was he maybe being rude because you kept using "solution" as a verb?

I'm using solution loosely as to not give any indication as to what he or his business was since I'm not rude. This isn't a complex industry. Solution was never spoken.

New York would be perfect for you.

Daddy taught me to never ask anyone where they're from.

If they're from Texas they would have already told you and if they aren't you'll just embarrass them.

What time is your bedtime? Do mommy and daddy know you're up at 2:00a posting of how you can drink with them even though you're under 21?

I haven't been to every state but the hospitality and friendliness in Mississippi was phenomenal.
In Texas, like probably every state, rural areas are more friendly than urban areas.

Side bar: Many years ago I wore cowboy boots while visiting college bars near The Ohio State University. Man did I get a poor reception.

People in NY can be very friendly, especially the older crowd. Younger ones are struggling to make their way and everything in NYC in dependent upon time. (NY minute?). I have to get this done and be on the street/station or I'll miss my train/ bus/ cab. They are always dependent on a system bigger than themselves and they have to work everyday out within that framework. As you grow older in NYC you can slow down a bit and watch the younger crowd run around like crazy while they try to prove themselves and set themselves up for the future.

You're absolutely correct. My high level of intoxication and hitting aggressively on all those ugly yankee women could explain a lot but their instant sneers at my manly footwear seemed obvious in my inebriated mind. My female cousin was my tour guide and she drank me under the table. I seriously think she inherited alcoholism from her grandfather. Sad.
