Star Ways

Honestly thought Band of Brothers and The Pacific were the most realistic from what I've heard from vets. But they're series and not movies.

I had a roommate at A&M (went to HS with him as well) that was a Marine reserve. He was a very religious person who didn't drink, cuss, or anything. Even saved himself for marriage. He ended up getting engaged to a girl and she asked him one day what boot camp was like. He rented Full Metal Jacket and invited her over. After the boot camp scenes, he cut the movie off and told her that's as close as Hollywood has gotten to what boot camp was like, the only difference is they're not supposed to hit you.
