It may be interesting if he goes slowly insane. I just realized he'll have to do over 30 miles per day to get it done before mid February. At least he has plenty of daylight.

he's kite sledding it sounds like. one blog update said his sled currently weighed 210kgs, so around 450lbs. the status part of the site said he currently has 76 days worth of food remaining.

I'm guessing he'll resupply at the South Pole station. He's doing like 50 miles a day for the first week while the weather has been (relatively) good.
