I do love my Birks. I have two pair. I do have a pair similar to the ones Duncan referenced but a different style that can get wet (Gizeh style)

My daughter also says they use metal straws in addition to hydroflask to save the turtles.

It occurred to me that in the mid 90s I was super into the 60s/70s Doors/Hendrix type stuff so this phase checks out.

So for those of you with kids - what have you purchased your kids?

I bought my 9 year old 50 scrunchies (it was $9.99 off Amazon). She hasn't asked for the hydroflask or anything else.

had to look up hydroflask... was disappointed because was thinking of hypercolor and was expecting the bottle to change colors based on temperature of liquid inside. Instead it's just an expensive yeti-wannabe water bottle.

My kid says she does not want to be a visco but wears one scrunchie.

She was dressed nicer than usual the other day and was accused of being a visco by a boy! I think she secretly liked it but wont admit it. Now she and her girlfriends are making fun of viscos in RoBlox.

My 11-year old daughter told me today, as she filled up her hydroflask with water, that she wants to be a VSCO clown for halloween. I thought she said 'disco'.

I didn't know how it was pronounced. My 9 year old was talking about scrunchies and my 15 year old said "Oh so you are trying to be a VISCO girl now??? Where is your hydroflask and tons of bracelets???". I asked them how they know what VSCO was and I got the "really" look.

I don't think lesbians "give up on life".

Makes sense that these things are coming back around. If that 70s show came out today it would be based in the 90s to be placed an equal amount of time in the past as when it was originally released.

I'm still waiting for Garbage Pail kids to come back around...

Over the last year our 15 year-old has acquired (we bought some, she bought some, her mom bought some):

* Two hydroflasks
* A silicon straw and a carrying case for it
* Countless vinyl stickers
* A crap ton of scrunchies
* One shell necklace
* A bazillion pura vida bracelets
* Two pairs of Vans
* I don't even know how many oversized t-shirts

I guess we didn't have our finger on the pulse of teenage culture because we didn't know this was a real "thing" until we started seeing the memes. It's silly, but there are a lot worse things she could be into I guess.

The over sized t-shirt has been a thing since at least 2013.

what's the deal with hydroflask though? i've know about them for a long time and people have been using them and other metal water bottles for years. is it just the in-brand now like nalgene was a while ago?

What does VSCO stand for? Google tells me a lot about what makes one a VSCO girl but nothing about what VSCO means?
