Why do people watch stuff like this? I have read basic descriptions of the "film" if that's what you call it, and that is enough to make me cringe

So this was a relief.

Me too, but that's just because I thought it wasn't very good. Don't know why it gets such hype

I can't stand watching Doc send Einstein one minute into the future and then not seeing two Einsteins in existence like there are two Docs and two Martys when they go into the future.

That would only happen if doc sends him back the minute also.

Einstein simply didn't exist in that minute.

Sometimes I think I'm the only person who understands time travel.

Why did Marty and Doc exist for the 30 years they should have skipped when they jumped from 1985 to 2015?

Marty returned to 1985 to live his life. But he'd aged during that time. So as an outside observer you'd see Marty age a few days in what seems like an instant.

Doc didn't ever come back, nor is there reference to him being around from 1985 and beyond. He visits the future, but there is no 2015 Doc. After 1985 Doc visits 2015 he comes back to get 1985 Marty to set the future straight. Then he ends up in 1885 where he, Clara, Jules, Vern, and Copernicus become "Time Ramblers" who just explore and observe since they shouldn't actually exist.

(Clara had to disappear after not dying in the ravine, the boys just weren't, and doc fell out of being within time as we know it when he never returned to 1985.)

I don't think you're following what I'm saying. There is a Doc in 2015. He was declared legally insane and committed to a nuthouse, but we don't ever see him. Doc from 1985 shows 1985 Marty a newspaper showing what happened.

While this was happening Marty married Jennifer, got in a car wreck which ended his guitar playing days, had some kids, and got fired from his job.

My question is, shouldn't Marty and Doc (and Jennifer too now that I think about it) have disappeared from the timeline in 1985 and arrived instantly in 2015? How were they around for all that other stuff to happen to them?

There are two Martys, Jennifers, and Docs in the future because that is the future. They had already gone back in time, like they were never gone. Don't see what is so hard about this.

Ok. I see that now...for Marty and Jennifer. As previously pointed out Doc did not go back. I mean he did, but he went way back and lived a life which would not have him existing in 2015.

Was there a date on that news paper?
Maybe a 1990 antique? I mean, how many news papers were still in hard print in 2015?

To be fair the whole changing news paper thing is a time travel impossibility. Even BTTF doesn't really get how time travel works.

Watched Black Hawk Down again yesterday. On top of all the Hell of warfare, the little donkey aimlessly pulling the cart through the carnage was pretty sad.
