If you're really wealthy, it's a must, I think. Not many things would suck about being VERY rich and single, but not knowing who to trust in that regard would be one bad part.

That's one gift a parent can give a child if there is some wealth in a family. Put it in a life trust so that it cannot be accessed in the event of divorce by the outside family member.

I never considered getting one. Wife and I are currently separated because she's having an affair. We're both Christian, said we wouldn't even mention the word divorce, did premarital classes, newlywed small group through church, etc.
