Peter Nesmith got rich because his Mom invented Liquid Paper. And he wrote some good songs.

Davey Jones was a huge teen idol. Marsha Brady had a huge crush on him.

The Monkeys had a very popular TV show.

And in the summer of 1967 Jimi Hendrix was their opening act several times.

Yep. Typing brain error.

I liked the 60s music. This was "pop".

Mike Nesmith was born in Houston and grew up since 4 in Dallas.

The show came on when I was in high school. It was one of several 60's era shows and was extremely popular. The "Garage Band" that I was in played Steppin' Stone and a few Hendrix songs. I saw The Monkees on television and saw Hendrix in concert - still during high school. Hendrix was awesome, The Monkees on television were just fun.

Jeez - learn to spell and respect the names of the band. Monkees. Davy. Micky.

Did anyone ever watch that movie that the Monkees made called "Head"?

It was like an 80 minute acid trip.

Always have liked the Monkees. RIP Peter.

Kinda scary for Micky Dolenz if the trend from that 2nd photo continues.

Read Stephen Stills first had the Tork part in the Monkees . Says it did not work out, go figure, then Stills recommended Peter Tork as they were friends in New York.
