The death of a fraternity pledge at Texas A&M earlier this year has been ruled an accident attributed to the toxic effects of Adderall, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.

Joseph Little, 18, died Aug. 28 two days after suffering a seizure at his Calloway House apartment and being rushed to a hospital. The freshman had been accepted to Phi Gamma Delta fraternity just before his death.

That's tragic.

Was it his Adderall or was he forced to snort it as part of the initiation?

Sad deal, I highly doubt he was forced to snort adderall though.

They wouldn't do an initiation in a dorm at Callaway. Seems like they threw in the frat thing to generate buzz. Adderal is highly abused by the 16-30 crowd these days.

Bingo. Any initiation proceedings would be at the house, not a pledge's apartment.

My guess would be no, he was not forced to. But he may have either been pressured into it or just did it with some other guys who were doing it and trying to stay up or whatever.

Still, what a ****ing tragic waste.

The autopsy report says Little used the Adderall to stay awake for the morning activities after being up all night with the fraternity.

During Finals as well. I wonder how many other kids on campus are on that stuff.

Good lord! Again? I was a Fiji pledge when my pledge brother Trey died during hell week in 1996 at the frat house - anaphylactic reaction to removing old wall paper. (I had de-pledged a couple weeks earlier after deciding it was not for me so I wasn't at hell week). The subsequent investigation discovered a history of hazing in the fraternity (no surprise there) - not at all related to his death. So unrelated to the death, the hazing forced the Fiji ban.

So it appears Fiji at A&M is cursed unfortunately. Tragic situation. Thoughts and prayers for the young man's family.

That is a really unusual fraternity hazing death. Sad.

The death was completely unrelated to any hazing. The investigation unearthed prior unrelated hazing.

He died August 28th so school was not in session. His death had nothing to do with hazing or abuse. He had not even started pledge ship much less initiation which takes place the following semester. He was simply a rushee at that point. This article is click bait full of misinformation pushed to perpetuate the anti-Greek narrative at A&M.

Wow! Thanks for researching that. And we just trust what we click. Fake news is everywhere. And we all fell for it.

I was a Fiji and living in the house when Trey passed away. That was a horrible day. Trey was and outstanding individual. I still think about him regularly.

I just adore how people will trash the Greek life brigade and, in the same breath, fellate the corps of cadets. They're exactly the same these days.

Prove me wrong.

I actually never had a problem with frats. I was a business major and interacted a lot with Greek life. To answer your question, yes. Even in the Corps, we said we were the biggest frat on campus

Those "rent a friend join a frat" t-shirts were so petty. I rolled my eyes every time I saw some guy on campus wearing one. If anything, it comes off as butthurt.
