Au contraire. Most modern speedometers use a proximity switch and magnet on the transmission to measure speed. They are electronic and are calibrated electronically. The old cable and spinning magnet devices in the speedometer are things of the past because they were not very accurate and difficult to maintain.

Let me get this straight.

You don't have a big problem with people cheating large corporations, but you can't stand when people cheat individuals.

Do you have any sense at all?

Say if you embezzle money from the corporate headquarters at UPS, Wal-Mart, or any other large corporate entity, that could hurt honest hard-working people that are employed at UPS. If it is a large enough theft, it could lead to lay-offs, or reduced salaries, or executives not receiving their bonus that they earned. (Executives at large corporations, in most cases have earned their position, thus deserve what they can get).

You need your head examined.

In my day, the only speedometers were mechanical from the tiny gears on the side of the transmission all the way to the dial on your dash.
