I'm still getting mail for the previous owner of my home. I've owned this house for 5 years this past May. It's not just junk mail, but bank statements, checks, all kinds of stuff. I've contacted him 2-3 times about it. He claims he changed all his stuff and filled out the paperwork with the post office a few times. I submitted the paperwork for a forwarding address myself one day and filled out a stop notice and talked to my postman. It has gotten a lot better since then. Apparently his son got popped for a few things and I got slammed with lawyer ads then his son lost his wallet and someone mailed it to me since he never changed his address on his license. Today I got a jury duty notice for him (the dad). The dad and mom moved out of state and have been out of state for a while, two different states. I'm a little worried that the druggie son will get in trouble and we will have LEOs show up here to serve a warrant or search the house or something.

What else can I do to stop the crap from coming? Should I just throw everything away and not worry about it? Contact him another time and tell him to get his stuff together? I'm getting very frustrated

Serious answer: He needs to contact the senders and update his new address. Forward from post office only last so long. Tell him if he doesn't get this taken care of anything with his name goes in trash.

TLDR: bang his wife

Have sex with the previous homeowners wife
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

Circle the name, write "not at this address" and place in the outgoing post office mailbox.

We've had similar problems over the past 7 years I've been married, over 3 different addresses. Someone from my wife's home time has the same last name as her previous last name and another person she bought a house from had her same last name. We get their mail, though it's usually not important stuff, just junk mail. I always return to sender.

Don't throw it away as I'm pretty sure that's a federal crime. Just keep returning to sender.

I got mail for years like that. I didn't know where he was, so I kept piles of his unopened mail that looked more important for years. I eventually decided to open a letter from a bank that turned out to be a $270 check for some sort of refund thing. Tried again to find him in county records but no luck. It turns out he was a patriotic guy who signed over his check and mailed it to Wounded Warriors.
