it's depressing that i first thought about breast milk storage bags and not breasts.
So, it not only comes in a plastic bag but it tastes off too? In my opinion, all shelf-stable milk taste a little off. It's got to do with the caramelized sugar in the milk, I believe.

Yes. I swear I can taste the plastic a bit if it's near the end of shelf life and not properly cooled. But yes, they heat the **** out of shelf stable milk so it's got some sweeter brown notes. Not my favorite, but apparently to everyone else in the world, this is normal milk.
Dummies. Normal milk taste fresh, not cooked.
However, I did learn when my kids were little that Borden makes a shelf-stable milk that tastes normal.

I've seen it warm on counters before putting in the refrigerator to cool before opening. I'm sure there are varying ways to the system. I'm just glad we don't use it in Texas. Pitchers are for margaritas, not holding your opened milk bags steady.

I have spent some time in Canada, and it's true. My first question was how do you pour it? It seems that most people snip the corner of the bag and then place the whole bag into a tall pitcher, where you then pour it as you would anything else from a pitcher.
How do you motorboat those things?
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.
They're special pitchers made to hold the bags. They have a pointy thing on the inside that pierces the bag and that pointy straw is attached to the pour spout.
Can't quite put my finger on it, but this thread pleases me.
