Cool video- you've probably seen it before. What really pains me is knowing that in my travels to India, you *really* see the problems with having No Traffic Lights in these scenarios.

Which one has the guy that gets in the wrong lane, drives past 40 people and throws on his blinker to stick his nose in front of somebody while block two lanes.
In my travels to Mumbai, riding in the "Toon Town" cabs, I became of the impression that signals, signage, and striping was merely a suggestion. Everybody drove wherever and however they wanted. Amazingly, it generally worked.Athanasius said:

Didn't they try implementing something like this in Europe? I remember reading something on the removal of some crosswalks at intersections actually led to less pedestrian-related accidents but it wasn't exactly viable for visually-impaired individuals.Whens lunch said:In my travels to Mumbai, riding in the "Toon Town" cabs, I became of the impression that signals, signage, and striping was merely a suggestion. If you mean "worked" as in "everyone eventually gets to where they're going", then perhaps. But to travel an hour to go 3 miles outside of rush-hour is ridiculous and normal there. I think the safety numbers are appalling as well- 600 deaths a day driving in India, IIRC.Whens lunch said:In my travels to Mumbai, riding in the "Toon Town" cabs, I became of the impression that signals, signage, and striping was merely a suggestion.
