Have we all missed this the whole time? Is there some Disney animator who can't believe no one caught this until now?

Yea, but I always thought that one was a bit of a stretch.

Even Mufasa's name contains "muff" & "ass"

That one was actually debunked. If you want to believe the animators: supposedly It was an animating crew that was working on a section of the movie:

One of the film's animators, Tom Sito, has since confirmed that yes, there was a word intentionally spelled out in the dust but it's not as filthy as people thought.

Sito insisted the letters actually spell 'SFX' an in-joke from the film's art and special effects (or 'SFX') department.
