My first record was shellac rather than vinyl, and was "The Teddy Bears Picnic", 1952.

I am too old to remember, and have over 500 lps. It was probably Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, The Beach Boys, or the Beatles; but it might have been an original soundtrack from The Sound of Music, Cabaret (Broadway not Hollywood,) South Pacific, or Gigi.

Vinyl was a Bee Gees album...can't remember which had to have been the late 1970's and it wasn't Saturday Night Fever.

I do remember my first two cassettes were Tom Petty - Long After Dark and Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman.

The fist cassette we ever bought was John Cougar - American Fool for my Mom's new car with a cassette player!

A 45 RPM record of Hound Dog by Elvis or Charlie Brown by the Coasters

First Album I remember buying was The Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe

Of course that doesn't include the 45 RPM children' records I had, like The Story of the Lone Ranger 2 disk set
