Not naming Whataburger would have been brutal enough for Texans. Selecting the West Coast-based chain they love to hate (in favor of Whataburger, of course) was even worse.

The findings, which included a most popular chain for each state, were determined by total visits to each chain "divided by the number of locations in that state," according to Business Insider.

The methodology is complete crap. There are what, maybe 10 In N Outs in this state? 20, tops? Versus how many Whataburger? There are more Whataburger on I-10 from Houston to Orange than there are in n outs in Texas
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

I think there might be 10 Chick-fil-a restaurants in Mass, and probably half of those are in mall food courts. Their methodology is crap. Their per store sales are good because of all the displaced southerners desperate for home food.

I would bet that if you built 10 Whataburgers in Mass, they would perform as well as or better than Chick-fil-a, for the same reason that Chick-fil-a does well. Displaced Texans like their home food, too.

I think this is more of a "look at me I went to in n out" on social media than it is people liking in n out more.

I'd drive past free in n out to pay double at a whataburger. And I like in n out just fine.

In & Out is without question the most overrated burger and fries in the history of the industry. Pissant patties, limp dick fries, and slow service. The trifecta of a ****bird burger joint.

Can't believe how many idiots waited in line for hours when they opened in TX.

Not being a native Texan, I think most of you overhype Whataburger (West coasters do the same with In-N-Out). That being said, if I am going to go get a fast food burger and fries, I'd prefer Whataburger. If we bring fast casual in to the mix, that might change. But I would definitely not put In-N-Out above Whataburger and I doubt the majority of Texans would. Hell, the majority of the state is nowhere near a damn In-N-Out.

I agree with this. Texans overhype Whataburger and Californians overhype In-N-Out. The non Texans that I have talked to that have been to Whataburger think its just okay. Texans think In-N-Out isn't any good. I have eaten at both many times and think the burgers are better at In-N-Out but think everything else is better at Whataburger. They're both good fast food burgers, but they're still just fast food.
