Yes, first world problem. But why is it always down? I understand that they have to clean it, but so do all the other fast food places and theirs don't always seem to be "out of order."

Because in the small town of Brenham, Texas McDonald's is the only one that has a decent playground for a 2 year old.

OP is right.
If we have 8 MCDs around town or whatever, on any given day at least 2-3 of them will have machines that are broken. Usually this applies to the Frappe machines as well. Although as someone noted above, I think sometimes they say "Broken" instead of "we don't have the mixture today" for those.

Yep. Happened to me last night.
Our local McDonald's are still on a limited menu from Harvey. The quarter pounder is on the menu. I ordered a double quarter pounder and blew their mind.
McD- Sorry sir, we are on a limited menu and can't make that.
Me- Can you just throw another piece of meat on the single burger?
McD- No, we are on a limited menu.
Me- Can I get 2 singles, one hold the bread and put the meat on the other?
McD- No we can't do that
Me- just give me 2 quarter pounders and I'll do it myself
McD- Ok, is that it?
And these people want $15 an hour.....There is probably a 100% chance they spit in my food.

I can't even remember the last time I walked into a McDonalds, let alone be upset that they can't give me McDonalds food. If I ordered food at a Mcdonalds, and they me they couldn't give it to me, I would thank them and walk out the door relieved that didn't actually eat that *****

Besides, his switch to powdered ice cream tell us the company thieving ******* doesn't give a damn about the ice cream or whether OP gets any.

there is an ongoing fight between Mcdonalds corporate and the franchise owners. Corporate wants the franchise owner to use their maintainer and the franchise owners want to use a less expensive source.
