I was in school in the 70's - late elementary, jr high, high school, and college - and share the OP's thought. Such sweet clean looks of pretty girls, not the overly made up "hotness" of today.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The only thing with those 70's girls is the grooming. Mowing and edging didn't really become a big thing until the early 90's.

Wait where are all the fat or "thick" girls that are so normal these days? Oh that's right they were not around because it is not natural for humans to be that large contrary to what people say to make themselves feel better.

My wife and I were having dinner in a restaurant in Chatham, MA last January and the place was nearly empty because the business is seasonal in that town. Because it was so quiet, we could hear every word of the conversation between two little old ladies at the next table. They talked a lot about their Woodstock experience, all the drugs they had taken, skinny dipping, talking about weed being much better in the 70's than it is now, recounting experiences while hitchhiking across Europe, naming the rock stars they had seen live and/or slept with, etc. Now, I've heard conversations like this from old hippies on Martha's Vineyard, and it didn't phase me, but there was something about hearing two old ladies who looked like a slightly younger version of the Maggie Smith character on Downton Abbey, dressed to the nines (including pearls), looking every bit the part of the aging country club matron, that just made it hilarious.
