By the water at my office people put coupons. Today there were some from LJS. I'm not actually sure I have ever been, much less where one is.

A year ago I drove through there and got an order of hushpuppies. Can't remember the last time I actually ate fish there.
At least 10 years.
I go approximately once every 3 years. It's the best decision I've ever made, until the second the last bite hits the innards.

It's been a few years. Actually crave it every once in awhile. The breading is addictive but as BB said, I soon regret my decision. Memories of that feeling has given me the will power to push back the cravings for some time.
Yep. I liked it a lot as a kid. As an adult, about 5 grease loaded bites in, I regret my meal decision.

Went once several years ago. ....For some reason my Father in Law think that place is the best fast food ever? I thought it was ****ing terrible.

its my guilty pleasure food. luckily there is not one for about 40 miles from where i live. but oh how i love the hush puppies and fried fish. i drown it in malt vinegar too. i love that stuff. i do feel like death warmed over about 2 hours after though. but it is so good!
On that show the Ozarks I predict Marty buys a LJS next.

20 years ago, maybe longer. Never understood how it's still in business. Guess I need to swing by and take a gander at the clientele. Is it like people of Walmart?

Been many years since a visit to LJS's, but three weeks ago I stopped at its white-trashier cousin, Captain D's. The fried shrimp and clams were not too bad. As much as I like it, I can only stomach a visit to either one about every three or four years.
I ate it when I was a kid but haven't gone back on my own. Even back then I realized that everything tasted the same.
Probably about four years ago, but it was a good ten years before that. There's one close to my house, but I'm never like, "hey, I really want some LJS right now". It really never even comes to mind.
We go every month or so. I like Long John's, but wish the Bryan location would remodel since it seems to be stuck in about the 1970's. Their fish isn't as good as the fish at Chicken Express downtown, though.
Once every 3-4 mths maybe. Some of you have pretty over sensitive stomachs.

I tried it a few years ago for the first time in a decade or two and felt like I had been kicked in the gut later.
How long has the one on Texas Avenue been gone? That long, plus about 3 or 4 years.
