I went to A&M from 99-03 and my SSN was my student ID.
Guess my memory is sketchy. I remember everybody had to get new student IDs and I thought it was because they changed from using SSN to UID. Maybe it was because our SSN was actually printed on the old student ID (the laminated one).chiken said:

That's why I had to block out the bottom portion of my school ID - it had my name and SSN.

I started in 2000 and we had ID's that looked different from the one Chiken posted. It didn't have our SSN on it but we still used our SSN for everything like filling out scantrons.

This is weird, under test scores I find this:
Test Description: HS Foreign Language 1
Test Score: 2.0
Date Taken: Feb 05, 2009
I find this odd since I graduated HS in 1992 and haven't taken a foreign language course sine 1990.
I also have a financial hold on my account from 2009, which also is odd since I haven't attended TAMU since 2002.

nope, I've clicked every button and nada. This could also be due to the fact that I haven't had an ID issued since 1996

I stand corrected. I was there for a good chunk of the 80s and had a 7 digit student ID #. Don't know why they would have gone to SSN exclusively. Obviously it was before identity theft became a big thing.
It wasn't just an A&M thing, my SWT ID from the mid-'90s also uses my SSN.
