Snake or gtfo
Not sure what kind it was but it was bolted to my 1992 Oiler blue Chevy Lumina. Once I was talking to a friend as I drove through the Washburn tunnel in Houston, lost contact in the tunnel but as I came out the other side it reconnected (can't do that with today's technology).
Unwrapping this bad boy on Christmas morning 2002 (age 15) was probably the most exciting present I can remember. I thought it was so cool that I could email my gf from my phone (she didn't have a cell phone yet). Snake and space invaders were amazing games.

The black Nokia was my 1st personal cell phone in 1997.
My dad had a black bag mobile phone in his truck .. I remember being with him on job site and when you were outta the truck and phone rang it would honk the horn to alert you.

Another vote for one of these in 1999. It was already 4 years old but analog worked better than digital signal between my parent's place and B/CS. I drove a 30 year old truck so there was always a risk it would crap out on the road in the middle of nowhere.
