I need my ring about a half size or so smaller. I was told that Balfour would resize it for free. I also heard that Balfour would essentially just melt the ring down and send me a new one, which I do not want. Anyone know more about this?

Did this last year, alrhough in the other direction. I just went thru the ring office when visiting campus to confirm the new size and drop it off, and it was mailed to my house a few weeks later. But it can all be done through the mail if needed.

As mentioned above, you can adjust up to 2 full ring sizes with the same ring. More than that and you'll need a new ring. If you need to reduce it more than 2, I suggest seeing an infectious disease specialist or an oncologist.

Adjust, as in also make it a size or two larger?

I've been on the fence about doing this for a few months now. But I figure, all the weight I've lost, I might eventually gain back, or at least a portion of it. And you can't do much about a ring that's too small.

I might just get one of those adjuster things you put on the inside of the ring.

Mine's been resizing itself for a few years now - getting smaller.
