$500k a year is not that much. There are a lot of things I wouldn't do for $500k.

I make more than $500K a year. This will sound stupid to you all but there isn't really a huge difference after about $250K - $300K a year in pay when it comes to quality of life. You can have a nicer house or a nicer car, but you're still able to do pretty much everything you need to do and really want to do (priority). It's nice to debate things like "do I get a Tesla or an M5", but at that income level, a lot is going to be expected of you and you really won't have time to give a crap about things like that. You will care more about taking vacations, having real friends, and having a good support network. Take it from me that success can be lonely. You all will assume I'm lying, but I am not.
As for things I wouldn't do for $500K, there are three real answers for me: 1) nothing that was truly dangerous to me and my health, 2) anything requiring working with absolute idiots, backstabbers, intense politics or jerks, and 3) anything criminal or highly unethical.
Agree with both posts.$30,000 Millionaire said:
I'll add one more thing: a position where there is no way that you can succeed or it is high accountability / low empowerment. Good examples of this are working for a company with slim odds of surviving or a start-up where the founder won't get out of the way.
Agreed. I make a 6 figure salary but my wife makes a high 6 figure salary and she works her ass off for it. We plan on doing it for another 6 to 8 years and then quitting and moving to the coast of either Florida or south Carolina. I agree that we look forward to our vacations a lot.$30,000 Millionaire said:

Probably. Grew up a gutter kid so the bar for me was already laughably low. Then after being brutalized by the green weenie for a few years all inhibitions and standards are completely dead. I am a total sloot. And I don't have enough shame to register it as a negative.JABQ04 said:Eliminatus said:

I can be bought for like.....next to nothing.
Is this a military thing because I can be bought pretty cheap too. Some of the discussions I've been a part of on the gun line..........
You say that but it's pretty damn fun.HBCanine08 said:

This is exceedingly true. When Mrs. blindey and I book vacations for ourselves, family would always look at us like we were crazy for spending money and/or points for upgrades and amenities. Our professional lives can be a serious grind. When we leave for vacation, I want to be on vacation and will pay good money for amenities that maximize the quality of my time. The last thing I want to have to do is squeeze into seats 37K and L next to Cletus McFatass from Vidor who is on his way to London for the first time to see the Berkinham Palas and ride on the big farris weel thingie. I don't want to show up somewhere and have to ride a stinky train and then walk six blocks to someone's crappy AirBNB apartment. You get the idea.$30,000 Millionaire said:

If I had enough money to retire on my own small private island in the Caribbean . . .$30,000 Millionaire said:
