Is this a sign of getting old or am i just late to the party in discovering that restaurants cant cook any better than us normal folk? Other than whataburger, im struggling to find something that i cant cook as good as the pros do.

Restaurants that serve $50+ plates cook better than I do. However, I'm not a Texags baller trying desperately to impress women so I I choose to spend my coin on other things.

It's not a matter of actually being able to cook restaurant style food. It's a matter of actually wanting to.
This! If money is a factor, it's expensive to get all the ingredients. It's not necessarily the meat and sides. For me I don't like buying all the herbs, spices and all the other BS that goes into sauces. Don't get me wrong, it makes a difference but I'm always stuck with all this left over crap that I will not reuse.redd38 said:
Cooking a full meal is a pain in the a$$, might as well let someone else do it.

I don't necessarily mind the time to make the meal, I hate cleaning up the dishes. F'it, let's just go out to eat!

It's actually a matter of convenience. I can cook a better burger than McD or WB or any of them, but it takes a lot longer.Tree Hugger said:

For me, cooking allows me to be left alone while husband manages kids & is a good excuse to drink wine.

When people tell me they can't cook I think to myself "Wow, you must really suck at following directions"
Some people have a weird mental block. My dad is in his 70's and can't do anything more than pour cereal into a bowl or make a pb&j sandwich. He acts tarded about it, because in his mind I guess it's womens work.EagleFordEarl said:

And some people "can't cook" so people don't ask them to cook.ChiliBeans said:Some people have a weird mental block.
