Do you live near a feed store or pecan buyer who may have a Meyer cracker? You may be able to get them cracked for a small charge per lb.

Unfortunately, a lot of people stopped doing this when the state of TX required you to sanitize the cracker between batches.

You must not have a real job, which keeps you on the road for days at a time.

Texas inertia nut cracker is the correct answer. Fast and furious. Set it on a picnic table outside and wear safety glasses.

Being outside allows you to do away with the sliding cover on the anvil and use the anvil bare. The pecan shell becomes flying shrapnel.....use the safety glasses. Don't ask how I know.

Or you can take them to Bancroft's in Powell,Texas, and they will shell them and wrap them and you can pick them out. I think they charge about fifty cents per pound of in-shell pecans.
