Went to creditcard.com to check out cards and wanted to get some opinions.

• Taking one to two international trips a year
• No foreign transaction fees
• No annual fees
• Want to be able to get cash from ATMs while abroad
• Earn as many points/rewards/sign up bonuses as possible
• Will probably only use the card when traveling

Leaning towards either the CapitalOne Quicksilver or Venture, but that's why I am asking you. Good answers will be rewarded when I am home from work. Stay tuned.

Just start calling phone numbers in the phone book. Eventually someone will give you their card information.

Those will not have the annual fee for the first year, then it's 95 per year.

However, with the Sapphire you can use points towards anything from what I have gathered.

I would prefer to never have an annual fee.

Cap One Venture

And not just because you can earn points on everything and use them for anything. Their customer service is off the charts.

I like my credit card to match my t-shirt and jacket.

Why will you only use the card while traveling?

If the difference between 1.5x cash/points and 2x is $59, why would you not run the numbers on your annual spend and see if the added benefits outweigh the annual fee?

This. I have Cap One Venture, and 2x points on everything. I funnel all of my spending through it, and the value of the extra .5% in points for me far exceeds the $59/yr fee starting year 2. Also, if you're going to use it enough to hit the 40,000 point signup bonus those points allonr basically pay your annual fee almost through year 5.

Check out The Point Guy (thepointguy.com). I use multiple credit cards to earn points on everything I can purchase. Just pay them off each month and profit. Don't discount the cards with annual fees - most of them have benefits that far outweigh the fee. If you are looking for just one card to use - I agree with him that the Chase Sapphire card is the best all around card.
