Not on tile. Too slick to benefit. The ball needs carpet for traction I think.

We have the Dyson Ball for animal hair. It works great. It has a separate "setting" for tile/wood/laminate floors where it doesn't spin, just sucks. It works fine for me.

I have about 80% tile and 3 large dogs. I've got an old dyson that still works great and a roomba that does fine with the dog and cat hair-which surprised me that it could keep up.

Shark is garbage next to Dyson. My DC14 Animal was getting long in the tooth, so I told my wife to go get another one. She came back with a Shark. I hate it. The canister is tiny and it clogs ALL THE DAMN TIME. I have to clean the filters every month or it loses suction and won't pick up anything. We don't have dogs anymore, but my house was cleaner when I had them because of the Dyson. I can't imagine how bad our carpet would be if we had a Shark and dogs. The next time I see a good deal on a Dyson, I'm trashing the Shark.
