Has anyone heard any details yet? Sending out prayers.

According to the Texas A&M Police Department, an 18-year-old female student was found dead in her dorm room on Tuesday.
Police said the victim was found unconscious in Hart Hall. Authorities said there are no obvious signs of foul play.

Not sure I follow the police speak. She was found unconscious or she was found dead? Little confusing.


But that sucks. I guess we'll see what the details are in the coming days and weeks.

Generally it isn't in any news or talked about.
Edit: surprised UPD put out a statement on it.

Hart went co-ed, and shortly after Walton was air conditioned. IIRC someone threatened to sue since there was not any female housing available for less than $1000/semester. The next cheapest option was Davis Gary at $1200. The powers-that-be were shocked that women actually wanted to live there!

Professionals in this field aren't particularly helpful outside of calling the police in to restrain you. The greater shame is the horrible lack of efficacy in most mental health treatments today.

i wouldn't use the word "shame." I imagine diagnosis and treatment from one individual to the next is very different and challenging.

It really is irresponsible to speculate. At some point, more information will be released, but until then, drawing conclusions serves no useful purpose. Some family sent their 18 year old daughter off to college, and now someone has to tell them that she's dead. That's unimaginably sad just by itself.

We were shocked too...then kind of excited that they wanted to live that close to us...then very disappointed at what arrived
