My condolences about Dougie. Two summers ago, I lost Henry , also after 13 years. Dougie and Henry could pass for brothers.

I waited a year, and now am sitting next to Earl, another basset. He's 15 months old and is a holy terror.

I will be thinking about you guys.

Thanks for the kind words. Definitely having a harder time than I thought I would but feel like we've been counting down the days for years. He was such a good boy and deserved more.

Would love to see pics of Henry and Earl.

Sorry about losing your buddy. It caught me off guard how emotional I was losing my Keeshond of 14 years. She went everywhere with me and for a long time it was just the two of us. Sill miss her. Enjoy the memories.

My first time. If you tried to make me cry. It worked. But thanks for sharing. We can only hope that's how it goes like that. They bring us so much joy and laughter. It suck's their time with us is so short.

Agswin2011, sorry to hear of your loss. No matter how long you are fortunate enough to have a dog in your life, it is NEVER long enough. Duggies looks and sounds like he was a great pup. You gave him a great life. Again, my condolences for your loss. I dread the day I lose Jewels or Sasha

Throwback to my first German shepherd. The ex wife kept him when we split and our kids were crazy over him. He passed away right before one of his birthdays which was days before the new year. He lived to be 10. He was an awesome dog and lived a good life. RIP Alois
