I have been to RenFest, but never camping, what is it like

can you grill food, and roast marshmallows or is it not that kind of camping

I don't think anyone would stop/interrupt you for too long, so you could get back to your marshmallows and food before they were burnt.

Stick to your own camp fire, unless you are ok with ... well, just wait and find out.

I heard it is just one big orgy. Also drugs, lots of drugs.

It's neither an orgy nor are there THAT many drugs.

Yes you can cook out and whatnot, just all fires need t be contained and off the ground.

You don't get invited to the orgies?

They do a bondage weekend in one corner of the campgrounds one weekend but it's kind of boring. Open invite.

There is participant camping and then visitor camping. The stories you hear are on the participant side. I've been there, it's pretty nuts. These people can party. You can just roam and get boozed and drugged up till your heart desires. Then find a fairy, or wench, or a chick in chainmaile, whatever floats your boat. Chances are you can get her in a tent, and it may or may not already be occupied. Then you'll likely just find a chair to pass out in.

I can verify this is correct

We have taken art classes to ren fest on "school days" and still have to answer a lot of questions. HS kids did have a good time last year though it poured the entire time.

Ren Fest orgies

If you think participant camping is crazy, you ought to be invited to the lifetime renny canping off sight on renn faire road..... holy hell. I would not advise trying to crash that party however... rennies are a bit crazy

Yeh, I've wondered over there too. Seems like they were just more 'druggies', and not necessarily hard core partying.

My bil has been doing circuit for 20+ years, They smoke a lot of pot, and do shrooms occasion, but the hard drugs tend to be shunned. You didn't make ti to the right parties!

Yeah the only hard drugs I ever hear of are the stupid raver kids.

But pot smoking is pretty out in the open.

Agof08, pot is exactly what I was referring to. The people I met just sat in their camper and smoked all night... boring.

The participant side, people were smoking too, but also drinking, dancing, roaming/socializing, playing instruments/fire circles, orgying. Way more of a good time.

Visitors camp still has all that, minus the obvious orgies.

What is the participant side and what is the visitor side, is the participant side just the people who worked renfest, can you go to either one?
