Certainly, you could describe some tattoos and the people that have them as undesirable.

But to label all of them trash? No. Tell that to the Marine who remembers his buddy by inking his name on the arm -- you know, that buddy who died while saving others' lives. Tell that to the untold number of professionals who do good things every day who have ink.

I work with plenty of folks with tattoos who are outstanding at their jobs, family, and everything they do. And they aren't trash.

I like tattoos. As long as they aren't dumb

I guess I'm trash because I have a tattoo. I guess 90% of our football team is trash because they have tattoos.

I feel like I work in a respectable field. And I'm professionally and personally closely associated with a wide range of great, outstanding folks, from laborers to accountants, attorneys, CEO's, etc.

If I didn't like anyone with tattoos, I'm afraid I wouldn't like many people.

I'm not a tattoo fan because I personally find the art medium lacking, ie, I don't want to buy a piece of art that will degrade so rapidly. Plus, I just don't find them attractive. If you want to color yourself, go ahead.

I am interested to know your thoughts about these questions:

Why do you get a tattoo that is "for me" in a place where even you can't see it without a mirror? Even then its backwards.

If it is for a memorial, why would you want to remember something so painful all the time? I anticipate that you will say you are remembering the good things, in which case I would say you'd have to keep getting tattoos of all of the current people in your life that leave good memories as well. I would prefer to move on and remember occasionally, not have a constant reminder.

My wife has a few all visible on her arms. Small anchor on each wrist, small harry potter themed one onleft arm, medium sized scene from where the wild things are on her other arm, a friday 13th tattoo, and a cat mermaid. I have none.
